From Our Director

” Public Health Saves Lives. Our staff is committed to the citizens of Franklin County. Our mission is to Protect. Prevent. Promote the Public Health of our residents and visitors to the state capitol of Kentucky. We accomplish our mission in a variety of ways including restaurant inspections, surveillance, investigation and treatment of communicable diseases, along with nutritional counseling and supplemental food programs through WIC, child and adult immunizations, and well child exams. Our educational programs including chronic disease prevention, nutrition, comprehensive sex education, tobacco prevention education ensuring access to cessation programs, harm reduction program, and much more. We also do preparedness planning to ensure we are ready to serve the community in the wake of a disaster or an event that requires immediate public health services.
