Franklin County Health Department

Vaccine Process

We want to remind everyone to please be patient and kind as we are working as fast as we can to get through these tiers safely and as comprehensive as possible.
The tiers we are following are what is recommended from the ACIP, CDC and the Kentucky Department for Public Health. We are working to comprehensively cover each tier before moving on to the next tier.
There is no hard and fast date of when the next tiers will be vaccinated but we will let the community know as soon as we know any additional information.
We urge people to continue to check our social media page, website (fchd.org), these daily updates and other news media outlets in Franklin County as we will push those community events out in every way possible.
Everyone will have PLENTY of opportunities to signup!

SCHEDULING 2nd Dose

Vaccine provided by FCHD  –  We will reach out to everyone that gets the first/prime dose with the Franklin County Health Department when it is time to schedule the appointment.  No need to call for scheduling.
Vaccine provided by another Location –
It has also come to our attention that many are questioning if they can schedule their second/boost dose with FCHD if they got their first/prime dose elsewhere.
If elsewhere is Lexington or even another regional site in the state then they need to return to that site.  The provider that gives the first dose automatically receives the second/boost dose and that we can’t un-match pairs and therefore waste doses.
Vaccine provided out-of-state, additional issues –
“Unsupported doses”  – If a person truly has a need, such as they have moved here from another state and it is not feasible for them to return, etc.
The state has created a website  https://redcap.chfs.ky.gov/surveys/?s=MJ8CDF9AMK   for them to complete where they will be matched with the correct Pfizer or Moderna vaccine location.
