Day 1 Overview

  • Today, students will:
    • 1-1 Introduction
      • Identify something personal about each of the health educators
    • 1-2 Icebreaker
      • Identify similarities about each other
    • 1-3 Five Parts of the Whole Person
      • Identify the Five Parts of the Whole Person (physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual)
      • Recognize how day-to-day decisions can affect each area of the Whole Person
      • Discuss how choices made today will help or hinder their lives now and possibly in the future
    • 1-4 True Value
      • Recognize that all people have value and purpose
    • 1-5 Legacy
      • Recognize they create their own legacies
    • 1-6 Positive/Negative Influences
      • Distinguish the positive and negative people influencing their lives
    • 1-7 Transition and Charge
      • Recall what they have learned and apply it to the charge received at the end of the day’s session.
      • Define their own personal legacy
      • Discuss their responses with a trusted adult

Day 2 Overview

  • Today, students will:
    • 2-1 P2 Review
      • Recall what they learned on Day One by sharing their responses from the assigned charge
    • 2-2 Tug of War
      • Describe the effects of negative peer pressure
    • 2-3 N.I.C.E.
      • Understand when and how to use the N.I.C.E. refusal skills
    • 2-4 Exit Strategy
      • Implement refusal skills in negative peer pressure situations
    • 2-5 No Regrets Book (Optional) WE DO NOT COMPLETE THIS ACTIVITY
      • Predict possible outcomes from decisions made in the No Regrets book
    • 2-6 Transition and Charge
      • Recall what they learned and apply it to the charge received at the end of the day’s session
      • Discuss their responses with a trusted adult

Day 3 Overview

  • Today, students will:
    • 3-1 P2 Review
      • Recall what they learned in the previous sessions by sharing their responses from the assigned charge
    • 3-2 Positive/Negative Futures
      • Define a possible positive future and negative future
      • Discuss a possible negative and positive future
      • Compare a positive and negative future
    • 3-3 Priority Check
      • Recognize the various responsibilities a teen may have
      • Recognize the consequences that a sexual relationship can have and how it can affect their lives and their future
    • 3-4 Ashley’s Story
      • Recognize the potential to overcome obstacles and achieve their positive futures
    • 3-5 A.C.T. Skills
      • Restate three skills for decision-making
    • 3-6 Transition and Charge
      • Recall what they have learned and apply it to the charge received at the end of the day’s session.
      • List three things they can do today to ensure a successful future

Day 4 Overview

  • Today, students will:
    • 4-1 P2 Review
      • Recall what they learned in the previous sessions by sharing their responses from the assigned charge
    • 4-2 Influences and Outcomes
      • Recognize that choices have positive and negative outcomes
    • 4-3 Unhealthy Relationships
      • Identify specific behaviors and feelings that are most common in unhealthy relationships
    • 4-4 Strong Foundations
      • Identify the five stages in a healthy relationship
      • Recall the four key characteristics in a healthy relationship
    • 4-5 Transition and Charge
      • Recall what they have learned and apply it to the charge received at the end of the day’s session.
      • Write down five characteristics they desire in a future spouse
      • Discuss their responses with a trusted adult

Day 5 Overview

  • Today, students will:
    • 5-1 P2 Review
      • Recall what they learned in the previous sessions by sharing their responses from the assigned charge
    • 5-2 No Regrets Book Review (Optional) WE DO NOT COMPLETE THIS ACTIVITY
    • 5-3 True That/That’s Whack
      • Identify different types of bullying
      • Restate the four types of help in bullying situations
    • 5-4 It’s Not Too Late
      • Encouraged to persevere regardless of past mistakes and future obstacles
    • 5-5 Measure Your Life
      • Recognize how choices made in the present can potentially affect their futures
    • 5-6 For What It’s Worth
      • Recognize that mistakes are not a determinant of personal self-worth
      • Recognize their innate value despite past mistakes or outward physical appearance 
    • 5-7 Final Transition and Charge
      • Make healthy choices in order to reach their goals and leave a positive legacy.
